I've been making a lot of smoothies lately and the girls love them. I even made one with a lot of spinach and they couldn't get enough of it. I had to take some pictures because i think they look so cute drinking them.

Rainboots: Every time Kennedy wants to go outside, I tell her she has to go get shoes and she ALWAYS come downstairs with her boots. Funny thing is, I love these shoes too. I remember when I bought them. It was the night of the senior-dinner/dance (12th grade). I needed a little sweater for my dress, so I stopped by Old Navy. Even back then I always shopped clearance. I happened to find these cute little rain boots for a $1.97! I knew I'd be a mom one day, so I snatched them up! I love seeing them on my girl. I tell her she needs pants to go outside, but that gets lost when she's looking for her shoes I guess.

I am in love with these pictures of Harley. She is such a little beauty. Look at those eyes! She has loved being outside lately. I caught her in mid-walk. She can walk, she has done it plenty of times and is doing it more and more, but she knows she can get to where she wants faster if she crawls.

I've been trying to be more "crafty" lately, Pinterest helps although I find myself getting annoyed when I think I came up with something on my own and then I see it on there. Oh well, nobody is original, right? Here are a few things I have made recently.

I really suck at doing layouts for the blog, so let me explain the pictures in order.

Gift card box- covered a gift card holder with contact paper, then made a flower for it

The girl's Christmas tree ribbon shirts- these were so easy to make a so cute!

Yarn wreath- made this one for my sister and her husband for Christmas. This is the third one I have made. I love how they look.

Halloween, a Birthday and a trip up the coast

We have been busy, very busy. Halloween was great this year. Kennedy loved trick-or-treating and is now an expert. She turned two on November 3rd and we celebrated my taking her to a kids museum in Temecula. We were the only ones there and it was a little over her head, so it was kind of disappointing. She had a monster-themed birthday party that turned out great! It was a lot of fun. Then, last weekend my family took a trip to Solvang. It was a cute little place, but there wasn't much to do there. My favorite part of the trip was the drive there. I have never seen these parts of California and it was so pretty. First it was all farmland, then the coast, then a drive through the mountains. I made me kind of like California again. Kind of.

Homesick

First, let me start off by saying it's a huge blessing to be able to own a home, especially after only being married for three years and on our income. Yesterday was a rough day. I feel like I sort of broke down at church. It hit me- I really miss Corona. Is it lame to miss a city...probably. I don't care. I miss it. I miss knowing my way around a place so well I swear I could drive with my eyes closed. I miss knowing the back ways and side streets and all of the short cuts. I miss not having to look up directions whenever I want to go some place new. I miss driving home and it not taking 30 minutes and feeling like Im on a road trip. I miss the green hills, the slightly cooler temperatures, and that smell by my parents house that reminds me of being a kid and playing in the ditch behind our house. I miss having friends. Real friends. Friends that I know them and they know me. And my kids. I miss being able to go next door and hang out and vent. I miss our old neighbors. I miss going to church on Sunday and knowing almost everyone there and being the one to welcome new people in, not being the new one. I miss my family coming over. I miss being able to walk to the park without being afraid. I just feel a little down I guess.

BUT-

It's not about me. It's about my kids. Now I get a chance to help them make memories and create a place that they will miss when we leave.

Maybe I am bummed out because I was told Elsinore was the armpit of the Inland Empire. Who wants to live in an armpit? I have never been to a new place (yes Corona is only right down the freeway but I can't just drive there whenever...that's weird) so I think that is why this is so difficult. I know it takes time to adjust, to make friends, to make a house a home...so I will wait and enjoy it. I will try to at least.

GVL- three Years!

Since I last posted, a lot has gone on. Jordan turned 25. I attempted to throw him a surprise party, but it didn't work. Jordan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on August 9th. We went out to dinner and took Harley with us, since she tends to get a little upset without her mommy. We spent a fun day in Green Valley Lake, where we got engaged. We went to the beach. We moved in with my parents for a month while we closed escrow on our house. That was a pretty good experience. The girls were able to become a lot closer to my parents and we had a good time. I'm so thankful they let us stay there. Then after signing tons of papers, and waiting, then signing even more papers...and more...we became homeowners!! We moved in a couple weeks ago and it's so exciting to know we own it. While we still don't have hot water at this point and I have no idea how to get around in this city, it's been fun and we have been so busy trying to make this house our home. As always, family has been a huge help moving us in and helping with the girls. I have to say, it has been a little rough to leave our ward and Corona, and all of out friends. I keep telling myself that we're not that far, but I feel really alone out here. We went to our ward this last Sunday for the first time- It was a very welcoming ward, but I still feel homesick! It takes time, I know. Plus it was my birthday and somehow that made me more sad. I haven't had my camera charger so I don't really have any pictures of this month... but here are some updates on the girls.

Harley: She just turned 7 months old!

She started to crawl a couple of weeks ago.

She loves to eat Cheerios- in fact, she has mastered picking them up and feeding herself.

She is so skinny. Looking back at old videos of Kennedy at this age, I think Kennedy was double the weight Harley is. Haha!

She is always smiling, we often get compliments when we go out on how happy she is.

She is babbling a lot. she's said mama (that was her first word, not that it matters...) and dada and lots of other cute baby sounds.

She puts up with a lot from Kennedy but despite being bullied everyday, she is a very happy baby.

Kennedy: she will me two in two months...she is kind of terrible already! Actually, she is very much a toddler. Her favorite words are no and mine. She also like to say "It's Kennedy's turn" or "My turn" for anything she wants

She now will go to nursery by herself ( we love this)

She is still obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba.

She can the say the alphabet all the way through- she says it over and over again randomly throughout the day

she can count to 15, but usually goes up to 12 or 13.

She does something new everyday, it is crazy!

It is time

After paying rent for three years and moving to a bigger a apartment every time our lease is up, we decided maybe we should look into buying! It is exciting but it is a HUGE pain in the butt. We started this whole process back in March thinking it would be easy to find something. Something in our ward. Something in Corona. Good thing we started looking when we did because this has taken forever. After realizing that Corona is too expensive for our budget and doesn't have homes/condos in our price range that are FHA approved, we looked into the idea of Lake Elsinore. So here we are on July 1st. Our lease is up in 39 days, and we will not be signing another one or paying waaaay too much to live here month to month. Where are we going , you ask? That is a great question! We don't know as of right now. We have an offer in on one house that we feel pretty good about, but who knows how long it will take if our offer is accepted to actually get into the house. Faith is a wonderful thing. Right now, we have a lot of it that everything will work out. Although it is smart to have some kind of idea where we'll live in case the timing is off- which is very likely. So I guess it's time to try to figure that out.

Anyway. Things are great. The girls are cuter than ever. On a side note: why did I ever want Harley to be a boy?! I LOVE the thought of her and Kennedy being so close. This is going to be so much fun and I know they wouldn't have the same relationship if she was a boy. Plus, matching outfits are so much fun! So this is our life right now. It's pretty awesome.

I can't believe our little Harley -Bean is already 2 months old. She is such a good baby! She already sleeps better than Kennedy does and she is very calm and patient. I love her so much. Sorry if these pictures all look the same, but I couldn't decide and they look different to me...but then again, I am her mommy.

There is no denying she has blue eyes. And who would have thought I'd get two redheaded little beauties? I LOVE it!

Today she had her 2 month check up- her stats:

12.0 lbs. 80%

23.0 in. 80%

She still is having problems with acid reflux, but it has gotten a lot better with medication. She is doing great at holding her own head up and she even likes tummy time. This poor girl gets beat up by Kennedy a lot, but she'll get her back one day I'm sure. I can't say its been easy have two under two years old, in fact most days are difficult since Kennedy is constantly insane. I like to think a year from now, it will be a lot of fun. Until I get pregnant again (not that we are thinking about it just yet!)

A little about Kennedy:

We love her to death but she hit her terrible twos a year early. She is so smart, but extremely stubborn. She loves Yo Gabba Gabba and playing with other kids. She'll be going to nursery in a few weeks! She knows tons of words, most of her body parts, and she is learning to count to 5 and say her ABCs. She thinks the ipod touch is hers, and knows how to work it and delete all of Jordan's progress on his games(multiple times)!She loves to be outside, color, play with her baby dolls, including Harley, and drive us crazy. Really, she loves to do that!

We are so blessed to have each other and our two girls!

Meet Harley

Our little Harley joined us (via induction) on Sunday February 13th and 6:21pm She weighed 7lbs 13oz and was 19in long. It was a very easy labor, although I finally felt some real contractions with her (ouch!). She was out in 5 pushes. Life with two under two has been a little crazy. We have been able to transition very well though. I am surprised that Kennedy seems to be ok with having a little sister. She can be very affectionate and give Harley kisses then turns on her and hits her. She's still young and learning how to be "soft". I honestly thought it would be a lot worse, so I consider us blessed. Lack of sleep seems to be the biggest thing to get used to. Harley is awake a lot at night, and when she finally falls asleep, Kennedy is waking up for the day! We are healthy and happy and loving our sweet little girls. We so appreciate the help from our family and friends.

Harley is such a sweet baby. She has been so easy and calm. She makes adorable faces and has such a cute smile-even if it's just her pushing out gas. I have such tender feelings as I hold her. I'm so excited to watch her grow. I feel so blessed as I look at my little family. We really have it all.

Totally a blog worthy moment

Today was the last day that I will venture out on my own (with Kennedy) for a very long time. All I wanted to do was drop off brownies to a family in our ward that just had a baby, and go buy some milk for tomorrow. I had the feeling I should skip the grocery store since Kennedy doesn't like to be strapped in a cart and I can't carry her. I ignored it though. I was already out. The shopping itself was fine. Once we got out to the car the trouble started. She wouldn't sit down in her car seat, so I handed her the keys to play with. Something I always do. Not anymore. I handed to cart to a worker walking by so I wouldn't put it where it didn't go ( big pet peeve when people don't put their cart back) and as I did, I shut her door! I instantly heard the horn beep and knew she just locked her self in. Boy, am I glad that there are nice people in the world. After a few minutes of talking to her through the window, trying to get her to unlock the doors, a man came up and asked me if I was ok. So I start to cry (can't control that anymore either) and told him I locked my baby in the car. He tells me he has AAA and we give them a call. As I dial the last number of his card account - she unlocks the car!! Thank goodness! So I thanked him and we are now home and she is throwing her dinner all over the floor. That about sums up my life for the last few months. I really can't control my hormones and feel crazy all the time. That's life I guess. This milk better be amazing!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kennedy (I may brag a little bit)

Since we have so many pictures to share, I will post more on a separate blog. Wednesday was Kennedy's first birthday. I cannot believe that a year has gone by since this wonderful baby girl entered our lives. She has been such a blessing. I love being a mom. I realized lately that it has just become who I am, there is no turing it off. For example- I spoil her even when she's not around. I can't help but buy her a little something when we go out, or save her some of my food to share. She is always on my mind. I have never seen a baby with so much personality. She is so observant and smart. From the start, Kennedy was hitting all of the mile-stones early on. She held her own head within a few weeks, she crawled at six months, and took her first steps at nine and a half months. She is so good at mimicking people. If she sees how something is done once or twice, she an usually do it herself. It seems like she can do something new every day, and of course we think it's remarkable.

I love to cuddle with her. She is my little buddy. Lately I feel like we have a special bond. I hope we stay close as she grows older. She is such a happy baby. She has always been that way. I think it's because she always has food- I know that make me happy!! Really though, she is such a good natured little soul. I love watching her when she discovers something. You can see her mind working, figuring out how it works, or what it is. She always laughs at something when we do, like she understands what is funny. One time we had people over (she was about 4 mths) and we were sitting around talking. Kennedy had to be in my lap and would smile when we laughed. It was like she was part of the conversation. She amazes me every day.

Now, I'll get to her birthday. My cousin got us into Disneyland, so we spent the day there. She did great and we were able to stay until closing. I think some of the rides were too dark and scared her at first, but she started to have fun after going on a couple. I think her favorite thing though was having so much space to walk around, seeing so many new things, and for some reason the planters. She kept wanting to play in the planters. We tried to take pictures but she wouldn't look at the camera for most of them. We love our Kennedy!!!

We had so much fun at our ward Halloween party last night. I love Kennedy's costume. Anyone who has spent time with her knows how fitting it is for her to be a monster. Yes, she is in the dishwasher in the fourth picture- point proven! She looked so cute last night and had her first trick-or -treating experience. She (I mean Jordan and I) made out pretty good on the candy stash. I wish she could wear this all the time. Thanks again to Dejah for making her first Halloween costume- you did a great job!

Yesterday was my fist real Mother's Day...as a mom! It was a very special day for me. I was actually really excited for the day. It started off with Jordan making me breakfast( he does this quite often) but next to my plate was a sweet poem he wrote for me. I was really hoping he would write me one- those have been the best gifts from him. Of course it touched my heart and made me cry, I think he felt pretty good about that.

Sacrament meeting was really emotional for me too. I did a good job at not crying though. The primary children sang and it reminded me of being little and singing for my wonderful mom. What really got to me was when all of the men sang. It was awesome to see everyone up there and I really felt special.

After church we went to my parents house where my dad made some amazing sub sandwiches! I love my mom, she has been through a lot, but she is happy and always has something witty to say. It has been a really amazing experience seeing my parents become grandparents. They are great with Noah and Kennedy. I cannot express how much love I have for my mom and how much gratitude. I finally have some idea of how much she loves her children. It is so great to feel that love.

Next we went over to Jordan's parents house. Kennedy is one lucky baby. Sheryl loves her grand babies, and she is great with them. She of course has had a lot of experience with kids and it shows. I have always looked up to her. Growing up I thought "sister Holmes" was the sweetest lady in the stake. You know how there are just some people who always have something nice to say and you feel good around them because they are so good? Now she is my mom too!

I am truly blessed and I really felt that yesterday. I can honestly say I love being a mom. Surprisingly , it has been easier than I thought it would be and even better than I could have ever imagined. What a wonderful, eternal calling it is! I am so grateful for it.

Kennedy is SIX months old!!

Wasn't it just last week we were bringing her home from the hospital?!

It really feels like its only been six days and not six months. Kennedy is such a sweet and happy baby. She is so smart and silly. Right now her favorite toys are her pink lizard, musical piano, and pretty much anything anyone else is holding. She makes us laugh and learns something new everyday! This girl loves paper. She always eats it, and objects if I take it away. I wasn't quick enough yesterday and my shopping list was in her diaper this morning. (sorry, I find it hilarious)

Pretty soon she'll really be asking for the keys to drive take the car out! And look at this little pose!! This is my absolute favorite picture of this girl!

So here is a picture of her from today at the office. She was being so funny. It took the doctor a while to listen to her heart beat because she wouldn't stop grabbing at everything. Here are her six months stats:

This Easter was my favortie so far. It was also conference weekend, which I really liked that they fell on the same weekend. Sunday morning we watched conference at home (while I did Jordan's hair with Kennedy's clips) then we went to the Pitt family Easter dinner. This is one of my favorite holidays. Everything feels so new and fresh and it is the most important holiday to remember Christ. The PItts still do easter egg hunts- I love it. Kennedy had her first hunt this year. The prizes are awesome and being with family is even better.

That I am the luckiest girl. Jordan is a great man, husband, and father. He puts up with a lot (aka- me). He is so talented in everything. I feel like he is one of those people who can do anything really well. He is a great cook, very knowledgeable about gadgets and electronics, a great artist, and can write amazing poetry. He always has a way of making me feel loved and making everything better. He is such a calm and patient person, but he always has a joke in him. April 1st will mark the two year anniversary of our first date. Asking him out was the best thing I ever did. I still can't figure out why he chose me. I don't have the words to describe how much I love him. He helps me to be a better person, because I figure I should at least try to be in his league, since he is way out of mine. Everyday, he does something that impresses me and reminds me of just how lucky I am that he is mine. Forever.

California bugs me

1. L.A.- the belly of the beast
2. Way too crowded. You know how people say California is great because you can go to the beach, desert,and the mountains all in one day! Yeah, what hidden freeway are you taking where there isn't any traffic making that possible?
3. Too many dang hippies
4. We only have one season here- warm. If we do have some rain, we are suddenly on "Storm Watch 2010"
5. Nobody knows how to drive. We might as well stop installing turn signals because no one knows how to work them. For the few of us that do use them, it is pointless, everyone just speeds up anyway.
6. We are taxed on everything and our taxes are way too high. Everything is expensive.
7. Is there a single road that doesn't have a pot hole, big cracks, or uneven pavement?
8.Our Governor...yeah...
9. Most beaches I have been to here look like the world's toilet, not all but most.
10. So many people smoke (ok so I can't really say they don't elsewhere) but I am so sick of not having fresh air. Our freeways and streets are littered with cigarettes (and other trash) and smokers are always ignoring the fact that they can't smoke close to buildings. Every time I go out someone around me is smoking.
Yeah this is a Breana rant. We drove to Santa Monica yesterday and every time I go out these are my thoughts. As much as I don't care for this state, there is one reason we are here- we grew up here, our family is here, it is home!

As you can see, we have been pretty busy lately! This little girl makes sure of that. I have to be honest though...it is so much fun!! Kennedy is always moving or smiling or doing something incredibly adorable. She definitely keeps us on our toes. I can't believe she is a few days shy of three months. Where did that go? Maybe she was busy making us happy and being a huge blessing to our lives, or creating sweet moments that I will never forget. I love her so much. It's fun to watch her grow but at the same time I want her to stay this small and sweet forever. She already has such a personality. I'm a little nervous for when she becomes mobile. She is the most wiggly thing I have ever seen. I'm almost positive she will not stop moving once she starts. She already keeps lifting herself out of her bath tub! Anyway, life is awesome. You would think that having a baby would suppress my baby fever for a little bit...nope! It just made it worse. She is too perfect not to want more. LOTS more!

The Puj Tub Review

So I am an official product tester for the Puj Tub. We tried it out for the first time yesterday and I love it. It folds together very easily- I even tried it one handed. At first I was a little disappointed that it was too small to fit in our kitchen sink, but it turned out that using the bathroom sink was much better. I liked how it snugly fit into the sink and it cradles the baby so if they move around (which they do) they wont fall out over the side. Another thing I like about it is that because its kind of a seat, the water pools in the bottom and that keeps the baby warm, like a real bath. There are little slits in the side that allows that water to spill out so it keeps the water at a safe level. Another bonus about this tub is that it hangs flat to dry, so you can store it pretty much anywhere, and its easy to clean. I highly recommend this to new moms. Her First Thanksgiving!

Kennedy had her first Thanksgiving this year. She started off with a smile (the middle picture) and was passed through loving hands all day. She got to see her Grandmas, who both couldn't wait to get their hands on her. She also got to see two of her great Grandmas, which I think is awesome they can be a part of her life. We celebrated by eating with the Holmes family, then by eating with the Hettingers. It was a really fun day, I think it may have been my favorite Thanksgiving so far. It was really nice walking into my parents house because Dejah and Julie spent the afternoon decorating it for dinner. It looked great and really made a difference. I am so thankful for everything- for a wonderful husband, a beautiful baby, a loving family, having the gospel in my life, and the daily spiritual experiences I have that constantly remind me of how much our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy. To my family, my whole family (both sides and everyone)- we love you all!

Kennedy Layne Holmes was born on Nov 3rd at 9:44 pm. 7lbs 6oz and 20in long, healthy and as well behaved as can be. Seeing her come into this world was an amazing thing, and I have gained a greater appreciation for what it takes for a woman to take part in bringing a life into the world. here are some photos if you havent already seen the ones posted by other family members.

Three weeks left??

I'm feeling confident that it wont be that long. The doctor said today that I'm between 2-3 cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said that's really good for 37 weeks and the first baby. I have a really good chance of delivering vaginally too. So glad to hear that! She told me to keep doing what I'm doing (eating ice cream!? haha) I guess I move around a lot but I plan on be more active this week. She estimated that Kennedy will be about 6-7 lbs, average size for a baby. So all is going well and I go back in one week "unless I go into labor this week" hey those were the doctors words- not mine. I'M EXCITED!!

As of yesterday I am dilated to a 2 and effaced 50%. I know it can still be a while and that's ok, but we are both getting really excited. I can't believe how quick these months went by. It seems like just a couple of months ago I found out I was pregnant, and now its almost over. Crazy! Sometimes it really scares me how fast time goes by... we've been married for 14 months and it doesn't feel like it at all. We still rush home to see each other and say "I love you" countless times a day. I have a feeling we'll always be like this though. =) Life is just grand. Honestly though, this pregnancy has been kind of rough. It sucked having to pass a kidney stone (talk about pain), then I got this stupid PUPPs rash, and now they told me I tested positive for GBS. It has been scary and I've been full of emotions but I'm confident Kennedy will be a healthy baby and that all will be well. I know these little trials are worth it. I've had some great spiritual experiences and have really come to appreciate the blessings of the priesthood and I'm so thankful that Jordan is the man he is. He takes care of me. On the less serious side, I've decided I'm really excited to have my brain back. Pregnancy brain has made me even more absent-minded! Little things like getting lost going to places I have been many times, forgetting the date, having to write everything down...twice and not being able to say things that make sense have all become part of my daily routine. Anyway, these are just random thoughts because I'm bored and anxious.

So, I tried to take a picture by myself and I gave up trying to include my face in it. Oh well- here's the belly.
I can't believe how quickly it's gone by, but we don't mind- we can't wait to meet this baby girl! Pregnancy has been fun. The worst part has been dealing with the heat and the extra weight. The best part has been sharing this experience with Jordan, picturing what she'll look like, and feeling her move... a lot! Sometimes that worries me because she is very active and we're hoping she wont be too hyper when she's born. Still, it's all fun though.

Yep, that describes this last year being married! I wouldn't change one thing about it. I can't believe its been a whole year already. Time flies when you're having fun with the one you love. The weekend started off with us going to a show on Saturday night. We saw one of our favorite bands- Slow club. They were amazing, their voices sound so good together and I can honestly say they are the best band I've seen live vocal wise. Then on Sunday we headed off to my aunt's cabin in Green Valley Lake. This is where we got engaged, so we had to take a picture and hopefully can make it a tradition to go back every year. (I was sitting on this same table when Jordan proposed!)
We had a lot of fun. We BBQed and made s'mores...

Then we went to Big Bear lake and and rented a Kayak.
It was a little scary at first, but I got used to it... although I think Jordan did most of the work.
It was a really fun weekend and it was nice to get away. I can't believe how blessed I am to be married to my Jordan. He is far more than I deserve. He helps me to be a better person because he is so good. I've never met such a hard worker or someone so patient. He continues to impress me day by day. I'm so glad that we are both layed-back and we get along so well. We have never had a fight or an argument and we plan to keep it that way. So many people told us when we got married to enjoy the honey moon stage while it lasts, because after that marriage isn't so great..pssh who says it ever has to end? We agree it will last forever. So like I said, it was a perfect year and I am so excited for many more to come. I never thought I could ever be this happy! I love you Jordan, happy anniversary!!

here are my right and left ankles on tuesday last week. i fell down at work and sprained my ankle pretty bad. lots of fun. now i get to spend 8 hours a day calling past customers to see if they want to sign back up with us. most people seem to have distinct reasons for canceling their service. needless to say, work has not been fun for me.

So we had our appointment today , and when the nurse came in she said all we had to do today was hear the heartbeat and take some measurements- Oh and had I had an ultrasound yet? I told her we had not and she said they'd have to order one. I was feeling pretty sad because I thought for sure we would get to find out today. So I asked her how long it would take to order an ultrasound and she said they may be able to do it today! Yippee, we were all for that. We only had to wait about a half hour and I drank about two water bottles. Then we got to see our baby girl. It took a while... this one doesn't keep still! It doesn't seem real yet. I can't wait to meet her. She already looks like a beautiful baby and we love her!!

I feel like I need to share with everyone what an amazing husband I have. I've always thought myself to be very blessed to have him, but he's really impressed me lately. Ever since we found out I was pregnant, he's done all he can to meet my every need. and I never have to ask. We'll just be sitting on the couch and he'll pick up my feet and start rubbing them, or he'll start to rub my back. I don't even ask him to- he just does it! Every day he asks "what can I do for you?". He cooks, he cleans, he goes to work and school and he NEVER complains! He does all he can to take care of me and I honestly feel like a queen. And he always maks me laugh! He is a wonderful husband- I know he's the best and most perfect eternal companion for me. He will make a great dad. I love our marriage. So many people told us the "honeymoon" stage wouldn't last. We both disagree. It never has to end and we don't want it to. We know as long as we put each other first- it never will. So I just thought I'd share that with everyone. Thank you for all you do , Jordan..I love you!

I am very blessed to have a mother and a mother in law like mine. My mom is great. She has the best sense of humor. I know she has been through a lot in her life, but she still has a strong testimony, and is happy. I love to hear stories about her childhood and even better, her college years ( she liked to play pranks on people =) ). She is there whenever I need her- always willing to help me out. I think she is absolutely gorgeous and always take it as a compliment when I'm told I look like her- something all my sisters do as well. She has been a wonderful mother to her 5 children. She has also been an example of many things; love, sacrifice, endurance, faithfulness, a good wife, and just taught us how to run an home and take care of each other. I love you, mom!

Then there is Sheryl. How I got so blessed to marry into a family with such a great mom? I don't know. She is someone I have always looked up to. My mama- in- law is someone who lights up the room and always makes people feel their best . I have never seen an ounce of selfishness in this women. I am amazed that she had 8 great kids in 10 years and continues to teach them good values. She is always willing to help everyone out and is very good and noticing people's needs and tending to them. I feel like we can never repay her for all she does for Jordan and I. It is so much fun being her daughter- in- law. And I am so happy that she raised Jordan- He is the best Husband in the world. I love the relationship he has with his mom.

So thank you , mamas for all your love and all you do. I have two perfect examples of mothers and wives. I can't wait for our baby to be showered by your love!

It's been a really long time since we have posted anything on here - so it's time for an update. Wednesday Dejah, Arwen , Jordan , and I went to this cool fabric store in Buena Park , then we all went out to eat at Watsons in old town Orange. Dejah needed to take pictures for her photography class, so we tagged along and took some of our own too. (The tree picture) Everything looked so beautiful that day. We were off the 91 freeway by all of the burned trees and the contrast of burnt trees and newly grown green grass was so cool!
Then, Miss Arwen had her big day on Thursday. She graduated from ACC with a degree in massage therapy! Congratulations Arwen! I spaced on taking pictures of her in her cap and gown, but she looked very pretty and happy. We are all very proud of her.

FRIDAY--- yep, after months of talking it up and waiting , waiting, waiting Jordan was finally able to get his Honda Ruckus. I was pretty nervous about the fact that he's a Holmes boy and they all have a record of ER visits, but I followed him home and he rides very well. It can only go about 40 mph, which is fine by me. He's pretty excited- he just better not get hurt since he promised he wouldn't . So that's our update- more to come soon I'm sure!

I don't really have anything new to blog about, so here are some more pictures of baby Noah. He is getting so big and I love it! He's gotten a little chub chub in his legs and has a little belly; so cute! Julie is such a great mom. I know it's a lot of work, but she is always so sweet and willling to share her baby boy with his aunts. Which we really appreciate. Now I'm just waiting for the birth of my niece. Can't wait!

Not too much more went on in January. We did have a scare with Dejah, but I'm sure most of you have heard by now. I finally finished re-reading all of the Harry Potter books. Its crazy how caught up in these books I get. I think I was starting to drive Jordan carzy because I talked about them all the time. If anyone has never read them, do it! They are some of the best books I have ever read, however nerdy that may be!

Christmas!

This was a great Christmas! On December 13th we went to see A Christmas Carol with Jordan's parents. I love seeing his play, my aunt used to take us every year when we were little. We got our Christmas tree and decorated it . It was really fun having it in our apartment, and it smelt so good! Then on Christmas eve, we went to the Holmes family Christmas party. They are the only family I know of that has to use a church building because they can't fit everyone in a house- It was a lot of fun! Later that night we went to our parents house (mom and dad Holmes) and got matching pajamas! I was very excited to be twins with Jordan. Dad read us the story of the birth of Christ and we exchanged gifts. It was a good Christmas eve, but I was a little homesick. I'm used to decorating the tree with my family and this was the first year I didn't- but new traditions are great too! Christmas day was spent waking up and giving each other a small gift, then going to The Holmes and then to my parents house. Jordan was officially welcomed into the Hettinger family by recieving the traditional gas mask from my parents. Can't leave anyone behind you know, we all have to have one. Later we went to the Pitt Family party and played games. I was very happy that we actaully had a cold Christmas, but it was a little scary drivng in the rain. All in all , this was a great first Christmas. I love how my family keeps growing in size!

November was a great month! So many fun things went on. Noah is still adorable (as you can see) , Jordan and I celebrated our first Thanksgiving together by spending it with both of our families. I had a lot of fun. Then on the 29th , Arwen went through the LA temple to take out her endowments!!! I'm so proud of her and she was just beaming all night. It was great being there with almost all of my family. She has come such a long way and made such great changes in her life. November really was a great month!

This was a really good weekend for us. Friday night was date night and although things didn't go according to plan , it was nice to spend time together and be in goofy moods. Saturday was such a special day. We went to Dane and Jessica's sealing and then their wedding reception. I was so excited to go to the Newport temple, I've never been there and theirs was the first sealing I've been to. ( Other than our own) It was such a beautiful day. I love the temple, I really do. I can't express the joy I felt being in their sealing and reflecting on my own wedding day. I'm so happy for them, the spirit was so strong in that beautiful room. It's a wonderful thing to belong to the ones you love for eternity. I told Jordan later that I think I would like to go to a sealing everyday because I can't help but think of our wedding day - the best day of my life. There is just such a sweet, comforting feeling in the temple, and as impossible as it seems, it makes me even more in love with my wonderful husband thinking these things while in the Lord's House. Back to Dane and Jessica. She looked beautiful and they both were very happy. I'm really bummed because we left our camera at home, so sorry no pictures. They had an amazing reception and its just great to be with family . Seriously, I love my family. All of you guys. It's hard to express how much without getting so emotional. I know I am so blessed to have the family I have. I wish we could see more of our extended family- everyone should just buy a neighborhood together and that would solve it. Even though I'm not a big talker ( Jordan's family knows this) I love to watch how everyone interacts with each other. There was a special feeling outside the temple that day too as we waited for Dane and Jessica to come out. So many cute babies! Everyone was having a good time, and I love to just sit and take it all in. I really don't know the purpose pf this blog, other than to let everyone know that although this was a rough week for a lot of us, I am so happy and I love life. Yesterday was Jordan and Mine three - month anniversary. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed. When Jordan ask my dad for his blessing to marry me, he told me later that my dad had said to him that you think you can't possibly love each other more than you do now, but as time goes on, you look back and realize that that was the least you loved each other. It just keeps growing, even if you think it can't. Something like that. Anyway.. its true.

On Friday we had David and Julie over for some Carne Asada Tacos. It was the first time we have a full table in our apartment, so of course I have to blog about it... its a big deal. =) Oh yeah, I had to take more pictures of Noah too. I love this baby boy! We love Halloween! Its my favorite holiday, sometimes second to Christmas! One year I had a total of 15 pumpkins- I think that says how much I enjoy it. So for FHE tonight we carved pumpkins for our first Halloween together. Now I just have to convince Jordan to go trick or treating.... No, you are never to old for freebies, especially of the candy sort.

Jordan decided to shave his beard after having one for four months, but messed around with this for a few days before completely getting rid of it. Yeah!! Its already growing back, but I like it!

Sometimes I realize just how lucky I am . Today I came home to my wonderful husband making me a birthday cake and dinner. Last night I mentioned how this year would be the first year I would miss out on a family tradition of putting balloons in the birthday persons room. Sure enough when I got home today , our bedroom was full of 21 balloons. It is amazing being married to the most wonderful man in the world. I appreciate all you do, Jordan!! I love you.

These last few months have been some of the best. I honestly can't believe that in just eleven days I will be married to the man of my dreams!! It has been so great being engaged, getting to know Jordan's family better, and growing closer together. Im so excited to be called a Holmes. and especially be his wife and his true love for all of eternity.
